So over the years my most fun surfboard art that i have done has been with layered stencils, i haven't really gone to overboard for the ones that i have done, but guys like Logan Hicks have made solid livings out of urban Stencil art.
Stencils have been around since the start of street art, and with guys like Kris Trappeniers, C215, Chris Stain, and of course Logan Hicks, pushing the boundary's with layers and layers, the limits are somewhat endless for creativity!
Check this out crew, just sold a board to Scott in WA he was really fancying some of the lost art he had seen and gave us a call to see what we could do!
We were able to help Scott out and make the idea of his board with a sick graphic on it come to life, he had some of Drew Brophy's art in mind and sent me through a pic of the sort of thing he was chasing!
Alot of you might know Michael Spencer as the cool cat pro surfer from Newcastle who does big punts, dresses cool and goes mad on the decks to serious techno music, but the man of many talents also runs a cool little blog called www.lensflareloveaffair.tumblr.com/ it's mainly a photo blog that Spence keeps quite updated with new photos he's taken of random shit around his home town, with his growing collection of cameras. here are a few photos weve taken off his blog but make sure you get off facebook and take a decent look at his whole blog.
I know this isn't really on the subject of surfing, but hey who doesn't like a good piece of art. Ben frost is by far my favorite artist at the moment and for good reasons.. The Sydneysider has made his way to the top of the art scene with his controversial collages of well known pop culture characters and advertisements. His style has taken Pop art to a whole new level. Check out his pieces below, they will blow your mind!
Ive been in Brazil two weeks now, and seen some really creative graffiti. These are photos from a random wall Goodall and I walked past, luckly he had his camera handy.. Walls like these are very common in Brazil.
