Dane reynolds asp

With the world tour being cut down to 34 competitors this year, there will definitely be some more intense action from the earliest rounds. The 34 Surfers below, consist of mainly familiar faces, and only 4 newbies, including Raoni Monteiro, Josh Kerr, Alejo Muniz, Julian Wilson, Instead of around 10 each year.

Hopefully at change over time this year, it will give some more new guys a chance to have a crack. and make it more interesting for us to watch.

1. Kelly Slater (USA)
2. Jordy Smith (ZAF)
3. Taj Burrow (AUS)
4. Mick Fanning (AUS)
5. Bede Durbidge (AUS)

Kelly slater has taken out the Rip curl pro at mediocre Johanna Beach, about three hours from the famed Bells Beachs. slater opened slow with 7 waves under a 4 then scored a 8.93 with a Crazy Ally oop that had both feet hanging off the board, then backed it up with and 8.10 and left mick needing a 9.86.. this is Kellys 4th Bell and has now equaled Mark Richards record.

Stab Magazine Pays Freddy P's fine for Hilarious post heat interview.

Freddy P has scored himself a $1000 dollar fine for this interview post round 1 heat of the Rip curl pro at Bells Beach this week. The interview was filmed live across Fuel TV in Australia and also on the Webcast. The fine was actually paid for by stab magazine. who obviously thought it was worth being said.. I think it's plain hilarious and is a pretty big and typical problem in pro surfing today, not just with the commentators but also the Judges..
