A few days after the tradeshow and a couple of days to re-charge the batteries and Sedz and his girl decided we should do something touristy for the day as it had kind of been go, go, go since i arrived and we hadn't had a chance to check anything outside of the surf/party scene of southern California! Not that i entirely regarded that as a bad thing!

The main event

So it was time to hit the San Diego convention centre for the much awaited 2010 tradeshow! I'd never been to one before so i was pretty excited, and arriving here didn't dissapoint, the place was a complete circus with brands showcasing and marketing there product and image in 72 hours of brand self absorbtion for the public to sink there hungry fangs into!

San Diego lead up to the ASR tradeshow!

With a big start to the trip over and a bit of time to rest the we had to get ready for the ASR Tradeshow in San Diego, Sedz had a pretty hectic schedule, Djing each day as well as everything else we were trying to fit in.

Staying in the Casa del mar Downtown, which was a more than satisfactory place to get aquainted and rest up for the three days of madness that ensued.

Downtime at the U.S Open Huntington Beach

Check out the view from this beachside bungalow in Huntington beach, absolutely bloody priceless! I've been close to the beach before but sleeping any closer and you would drown! This pad's roof from memory was the mount for surfline.com's webcam of Huntington beach. On this day imparticular, about 2 k up the beach the crowd was roaring as Brett Simpson smashed and bashed his way to the biggest prize purse in surfing history for the second year in a row bagging a hundred grand for his efforts! Nice Work mate!

Newport for Julian Wilson's World premiere of his signature vid 'scratching the surface' to Huntington Beach later that night to finish the night amongst the madness of the U.S open!

Now that all the boys in this picture had been knocked out of the contest it was time to party, seems i showed up at just the right time! After a huge night at Julian's there was always going to be a recovery party for everyone that had a bit of free time!

Right Guys here it is, the series of blogs from the TWS trip to Southern California to get the wheels rolling in the big smoke of Surfing, ah, literally!

The First night of the madness was the Julian Wilson movie world premiere, Scratching the surface! The night went mad, with Quikky leaving no stone unturned in making the night a huge surfing red carpet event, pulling big names such as Kelly Slater, Taj Burrow, I even saw Pink floating around!
