Fanning takes over Parkos lead in world title race

After a third 17th placing in a row for Joel Parkinson, Mick fanning has moved 44 points ahead of Parko on the ratings. Tour rookie Drew Courtney cause the upset this morning, right before Fanning took out South African Davey Weare to move into the third round. Joel started the year off with 3 1st placings and a 3rd giving him a substantial lead over his peers, but since the hurley pro at trestles parko hasnt made it past the 17th round leaving his close mate and fellow rival Fanning to take out the last two events and being right on his tail. To most people thinking the year was over, its just starting to get exciting! i hope it comes down to pipeline, all things are more exciting when they come down to the wire. Don't count Parko out though, he wont let it slip too easy..
